Fantastische ervaring: Beste gym van Antwerpen! Esthetisch ingericht zoals een luxueuze privéspa, met meerdere mooie locaties verspreid over de stad. De prijs-kwaliteit is top, en de pilateslessen zijn professioneel en super leuk. Echte aanrader!

Negatieve ervaring: I've been waiting weeks for the legpressmachine but they still don't repair it. The gym is so unhygienic, people not washing their hands and walking barefoot. I smell feet if I do push-ups like can you imagine the smell? Obligate people to wear proper gym shoes, what is this kind of hype trend were they walk like they are walking in their living room. I totally don't recommend this gym..

Fantastische ervaring: I visited this gym 3 times during my stay in Antwerp. As a digital nomad it can be difficult to find a place to work out sometimes and this place delivered. 20 euros for a day pass and I was able to use the gym, go to a yoga class and use the sauna. Great value for the money. Definitely recommended. I just wish I had taken a few more pictures.

Fantastische ervaring: Zeer esthetische en fijne fitness waar voornamelijk de groepslessen mij aanspreken. Zoals bij elke fitness kan het tijdens de avond druk zijn bij de gewichten, maar door het reservatiesysteem kan je savonds altijd je les volgen indien je tijdig reserveert en er komen regelmatig plekken vrij op de wachtlijst. Elke les heeft zijn eigen coach op verschillende momenten en dit vind ik echt de toppers. Roy en Vita tijdens het spinnen geven je enorm veel energie. Daisy bij de reformer pilates en Nira bij de workout!

Fantastische ervaring: Ik ben helemaal fan van deze fitness. De groepslessen zijn vooral helemaal mijn ding. Zowel het onthaal als de coaches zijn enorm vriendelijk. De drukte is er, maar heeft mij nog niet gestoord. Hier blijf ik nog wel even plakken hoor!!

Positieve ervaring: Als het goed is mag het zeker gezegd worden! De groepslessen van Release zijn allemaal erg goed en leuk! Er is een zeer groot aanbod, voor ieder wat wils. De vibe in de club is zeer aangenaam. Er waren wat issues met de netheid van de kleedkamers, maar die zijn opgelost, het is er aangenaam en proper, werkelijk een plek om op adem te komen. Af en toe is het nog wel erg druk, en ook zijn er nog steeds regelmatig veel lockers kapot, dus dat is nog wel een werkpunt, maar verder is Release echt een zalige plek waar ik met veel plezier kom sporten!

Negatieve ervaring: I loved it at first, great location and accommodation. After more than a year, I was told that my foreign student card is not accepted and that the full price will have to be paid. As a PhD student doing her Erasmus studies here in Antwerp, I was shocked by this kind of situation. What a shame.

Negatieve ervaring: Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to get experience at the gym, but I did have a bad experience with the team’s communication. I sent in a membership request in January and haven't heard back since, except for some automated response acknowledging receipt of my request. Am I still on the waitlist? Did you guys throw my request away? What's going on with my request? Who should I contact?

Fantastische ervaring: Nice Gym with lots of weights and a nice Sauna!

Negatieve ervaring: Had good really recommendation coming from a colleague of mine! Submited my application once, no answer, emailed, asked, nothing! My guess they are strange selecting applications or just dont bother at all. Sad

But there was no communication on the recent price increase, thing is that I don’t mind paying, but when someone just starts charging my account more without letting me know it rather feels like steeling. And since a few weeks the waiting list for classes is 30ppl 30!!!! WTH …. Feels like money starts to be more important, which is a shame Becuase I have been a member since the very beginning and have been keeping my membership through Covid as the support. And now they just want as many ppl as they can get and want to get as much money from you as they can … sad ..

Fantastische ervaring: Super club - prijs kwaliteit dik in orde - receptie super - alleen de sauna is ietwat klein maar voor de rest - super club

Negatieve ervaring: 3de prijsverhoging aangekondigd in amper 3 jaar tijd: - studententarief van 35 euro naar 65 euro op amper 3 jaar tijd - volledig tarief van 50 euro naar 80 euro op amper 3 jaar tijd In plaats van transparant te communiceren dat ze willen evolueren naar een premium gym om de concurrentie aan te gaan met gyms zoals The Brick en ze dus daarvoor meer locaties willen openen en de prijs daardoor ook drastisch omhoog zal moeten gaan, schuilen ze zich achter standaard marketing blabla. Wees eerlijk naar jullie klanten toe waarvan sommige lid zijn sinds de dagen dat het nog “Het Eiland” noemde. Grootste deel van de leden hebben nooit om de extra locaties gevraagd en elk deftig persoon begrijpt dat het leven duurder is geworden, maar zelfs de kostprijs van energie is niet even hard gestegen als de prijs bij Release. Het gaat hier puur om hebzucht om te trachten de andere premium gym’s te overtreffen. De oplossing is simpel: pas jaarlijks de indexatie toe die naar boven wordt afgerond (dus 3,58% wordt dan 4%) voor bestaande leden en vraag een toeslag van 10 a 15€ p/m aan de mensen die gebruik willen maken van de lessen/andere locaties. Klachten zijn ook terug te vinden op de laatste paar posts op Instagram, maar geen enkele reactie van Release te bespeuren. Posten verder op socials alsof er niets gaande is. Heel spijtig allemaal want de gym op zich is wel degelijk deftig. EDIT: wat een grap die reactie van Release. As usual veel marketing blabla over uitbreidingen en maximale uit je abonnement te halen om dan letterlijk paar dagen erna aan te kondigen dat die nieuwe locatie waar ze naar verwijzen voor onbepaalde tijd wordt uitgesteld. Die prijsverhoging ook uitstellen (wat fair zou zijn als je hun redenering volgt want nu heb ik ineens een hele club minder waar ik naartoe kan) doen ze natuurlijk niet.

Fantastische ervaring: Meilleur salle de sport plus beaucoup de respect et des gens super sympa et professionnels.✌️✌️

Positieve ervaring: Great gym but often filled with too many wannabe influencers with tripods, cameras and even microphones(!) recording people without consent. It’s a gym, not a private film studio and it would be nice if something is done about it. Coming here should mean you can train in peace but currently you have to evade people’s cameras who don’t have any regard for others.

Fantastische ervaring: Al 2+ jaar klant, hygiënische fitness. Je krijgt enorm veel voor je geld, je kan alle lessen meevolgen, kan terecht bij elke locatie (super handig) en enorm fijn vriendelijk personeel.

Negatieve ervaring: Easily one of the worst gyms I’ve been to. Expensive, cold and, dystopian environment. Dumbbells that only go up to 35kg, plates scattered everywhere varying in brands and benches bolted to the floor so you are unable to move them. Half decent amount of hammer strength equipment but mostly life fitness and non brand bits. Probably good for the new lifter but not worth if even a little experienced. Very friendly staff make up for it a little but unfortunately will not be visiting when next in Antwerp. Left feeling confused and disappointed instead of pumped and full of energy

Fantastische ervaring: Absolutely love this place! They offer an impressive variety of premium group classes as well as fully equipped fitness areas for solo workouts and sauna facilities— all at a reasonable price. The welcoming vibe and hospitality really set these clubs apart in Antwerp.

Fantastische ervaring: There’s just no gym like what Tom and Tim created. They’ve put a lot of hard work in this place, and it shows. A diverse crowd, chill atmosphere, plenty of workout options. The best in town.

Negatieve ervaring: A good gym ruined by a silly signing up process. I was told after you initially do the pre-registration email you have to wait on average 1.5 months before you can sign up “because they are busy”. However, this makes no sense because you can always get a day pass for €20, so they can’t be that busy. I’ve used a lot of gyms in my life and have never seen a gym with a process as bizarre as this. Usually if a gym is “too busy” this represents a good opportunity for a gym to raise their prices to reduce demand, rather than just tell people they can’t go there. To tell people to wait a month and a half to sign up, ultimately means they will just find other places.

Fantastische ervaring: De beste gym in Antwerpen. Groot, mooi en modern design, een plethora aan toestellen, geen luidruchtige patsers zoals in andere gyms, en meer groepslessen dan je ooit zou kunnen volgen met de meest fantastische coaches ever. I'm in love with this place. De prijs is in een paar jaar met 50% gestegen, maar nog steeds competitief met andere vergelijkbare zalen in Antwerpen.

Fantastische ervaring: Je hebt er alles wat je nodig hebt in 1 gym, reformer pilates, krachttraining, boksen, yoga. Alles wat ik zocht op 1 plek. Mensen die er werken zijn ook heel vriendelijk en gepassioneerd over hun beroep! Wat het alleen maar aangenamer maakt om te komen sporten.

Negatieve ervaring: Was interested in trying the club, but even just for trying they charge €20. I have never seen anything like this. I'll never know who the inside of the club looks. At least in I-fitness I can bring friends to try out the gym for free.

Fantastische ervaring: Zeer leuke fitness, ruim aanbod van goed gegeven sportlessen

Negatieve ervaring: A group of friends and I decided to get a membership in Release. The girls’ membership got accepted almost instantly, but mine wasn’t. After contacting Release, they explained that they have reached full capacity for men as they tend to accept more women who do not use much of the weight lifting machines. Weeks passed and other friends, who are males, were accepted, and still nothing for me. I contacted Release again, who gave me the owners email to message. I emailed the guy and no reply. I then found out, apparently, Release is known for their selective, racist treatment with customers. Ironic that they choose to open in one of the most international cities in Europe. We ended up not going to Release who actually lost 5 potential paying customers. I would have given Release 0 stars if it was an option. Update after Release’s response: It is not true that people who wait longer get their confirmation first. I have explained in my review very clearly that my friends who applied weeks after my application got their confirmation first. And just an update: I still did not receive a confirmation after more than a year (not that I am interested anymore). So get your facts checked Release Team.

Positieve ervaring: Zeer aangename sportclub. Ik ben al lid sinds 2018 en de club is alleen maar professioneler geworden. De lessen worden gegeven door zeer vakkundige coachen en je wordt als sporter goed begeleid. De renovaties van 2022 zijn zeer geslaagd en geven de club een soort 'vincent van duysen'-look. Ik ga nog steeds heel graag sporten en geniet van de variëteit aan groepslessen. Wat ik echter jammer en frustrerend vind is dat de flexibiliteit veel minder is geworden. Het annuleringsbeleid van de groepslessen voelt aan als een strafregime. Er is een puntensaldo en als je een les mist gaat er een punt af. Begrijpelijk dat er een annuleringsbeleid is. Maar tot 4u voor de start van de les kunnen annuleren EN nog eens een 'boete' (zo noemt de club dit ook zelf) van €25 betalen als je 5x niet bent kunnen komen vind ik nogal overkill. Het ene of het ander zou mij logischer lijken.. voordien was de annuleringsduur 2u voor start van de les en de 'boete' €10.. Vroeger werd het puntensaldo aangevuld op jouw verjaardag of sinterklaas. Dat is afgeschaft. Er wordt ook geen rekening gehouden met overmacht. (Vroeger kon je bellen als je in de file stond of te laat zou zijn en werd hier rekening mee gehouden). Voor sommige lessen waar je dan weer zelf naartoe wil, zit je dan weer je gsm in het oog te houden tot wanneer er de dag zelf een plekje vrij komt. De lessen zitten meestal altijd vol of worden vanzelf weer aangevuld door andere leden bij annulaties, dus ik begrijp totaal niet waarom de club zo een "ijzeren regime" oplegt inzake annuleren... Zo is er dan ook net weer minder flexibiliteit voor andere leden die gewoon de dag zelf willen komen sporten... Negatieve conditionering en gebrek aan flexibiliteit lijkt me nu eenmaal niet meer van deze tijd, alsook in contrast met het hippe en hedendaagse imago dat de club wil tonen. Dit vind ik zelf persoonlijk heel jammer. De club is ook niet altijd even proper.. maar dat kan dan weer liggen aan het groot aantal leden.

Fantastische ervaring: Hands down the best gym I ever went to ... Amazing coaching, beautiful venue, friendly staff and I'm going to say it one more time: amazing coaching. They really show that they care about what they're doing and about the people in their classes. I have never experienced it like this before. So thank you and to many more years at Release!

Positieve ervaring: Dit is een super gym, iedereen is gewoon vriendelijk en heeft respect voor elkaar. Het spijtige aan de gym nu is dat je niet meer in de bokszaal binnen kan voor eigen training, vroeger kon ik zonder probleem daar nog mij voorbereiden voor competities en frustraties te uiten. Nu moet je groepslessen pakken voor je eigenlijk in de bokszaal mag komen. Als er een manier is om dit te veranderen zou ik het enorm appreciëren en geef ik het dan 5 sterren!

Negatieve ervaring: Naast de mooie fitness is er niet veel goed te zeggen. Communicatie is heel traag, antwoorden zelden op mails. Geven je bankrekening nummer niet door waardoor wanneer je je wilt uitschreven een mooi bedrag mag betalen, zo kan iedereen het

Positieve ervaring: Since some works have been done recently there has been a lot of space opened up. So on peak hours it doesn’t feel like peak hours anymore (it’s still busy dont get me wrong). The gym looks better in general now, as said by somebody else the male changing room needs updating but this will apparantly be done early 2024. In terms of pricing it is 70 eur all included (sauna, group lessons, other facilities). Towel service is 15 eur/month.

Positieve ervaring: Great gym, lots of machines and in very good condition. Very spacious too. Friendly staff. However, the men’s locker rooms need renovation. There is only one toilet in the locker room and the door handle is broken.

Fantastische ervaring: The people are very polite, there are a wide variety of classes, the machines are very good, the bathrooms are very clean, the atmosphere in the club is very pleasant in general.

Positieve ervaring: Vriendelijk personeel, leuke community. Spijtig genoeg is het in de 5 jaar dat ik hier fitness nog nooit zo absurd druk geweest, tussen 17u en 21u kan je geen vaste routine afwerken waardoor het opvolgen van je vooruitgang heel moeilijk wordt; sterker nog vaak moet ik mij last minute richten op een andere spiergroep omdat alle toestellen en alle bankjes bezet zijn. Prijzen klimmen stelselmatig hoger richting premium segment, het is nog af te wachten of de renovaties en vooral uitbreidingen die toch eerder gericht lijken te zijn op andere vormen van fitness, deze prijs kunnen verantwoorden; in de kleedkamer is het alleszins nog happen naar adem vanwege slechte ventilatie.

Positieve ervaring: Great for International ppl since classes are usually in English, nice people. It’s expensive for what it offers.. It’s only cheap for students so it looks like they others are paying for them. I miss a water filter, more sinks in the bathroom (downstairs) and availability of lower weight halters in the upper floor.

Fantastische ervaring: Zeer vriendelijk personeel, de groesplessen zijn heel aangenaam de dames doen dit met passie en gedrevenheid en dit werkt motiverend, als beginner heb ik er veel aan gehad. Hygienische gym. Wat de douches betreft de klant heeft ook zijn verantwoordelijkheid om na het douchen de trekker te gebruiken en alles proper achter te laten. Uit respect voor de volgende gebruikers. Ben heel tevreden dat ik voor deze gym heb gekomen.

Positieve ervaring: Heel aangename uitbaters, mooi stijl van de inkombalie en de renovaties die nu lopen. Heel veel verschillende machines en super fijn dat er een sauna is. Er is sinds kort ook een handdoekservice. Minpuntje vind ik dat je doorheen de ruimte echt temperatuursverschillen hebt op de gelijkvloerse verdieping.

Fantastische ervaring: Ich reise sehr viel und besuche daher viele verschiedene Studios, doch dieses Studio hat mich absolut begeistert, es bietet alles was das Sportlerherz begehrt und dafür gibt es von mir 5 Sterne + . Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich im Studio als wäre man im vertrauten Studio in der eigenen Stadt. Seid ihr in der Stadt, dann lasst Euch dieses Studio nicht entgehen

Positieve ervaring: Personeel is friendly and always helpful. Well equipped gym. I personally do not like the fact they stop the music 20, 25 minutes before the closing time. I understand everybody wants to go home but closing time says 10pm on week days and 3pm on weekends, not 9h40 nor 2h40. It doesn't give a welcoming feeling.

Positieve ervaring: Been coming here for years now, so bonus long-term review for you internet. Starting off with the best this gym has to offer; their staff. Fantastic people that greet you with a smile tot achter hun oren every time you walk in. The gym itself is well equipped, clean and properly maintained, except for a couple of things… A number of the mens’ lockers have been busted for as long as I can remember. It’s kind of a running joke by now amongst us male gym goers. Still, installing a brand new fancy marble desk, but not investing in decent lockers got me utterly flabbergasted. REGARDLESS, at least try this place out if you’re scouting for a solid gym.

Negatieve ervaring: The student pricing is 42.50 euro’s a month, this is pretty insane seeing that there is so little space inside. A premium price but for sure no premium feeling. This is no student fee, this is more expensive than a proper gym for normal customers.

Fantastische ervaring: After moving out from the neighborhood, 2 things I have missed. 1- walking around the Mas museum and watching the sunset next to the Schelde 2- Sport Club Het Eiland. It has 3 floors, lots of group lessons and as well as yoga sessions. Well equipped, nice materials and a nice community (I mean members and trainers). Moreover, it has a nice cafeteria which has nice comfy seats and tasty protein milkshakes :) Nowadays I consider to register again even though I live quite far.

Negatieve ervaring: Muziek staat altijd te luid en is echt van zeer lage kwaliteit. Het lijkt erop dat dit elk jaar erger wordt.

Positieve ervaring: The Sportclub Het Eiland is a decent gym for reasonable price. However, the quality is dropping down a bit after reopening. The airco got broken several weeks ago and haven’t been replaced even by a simple fan. Having a body pump class in a room when you cannot open windows is challenging in summer. I Would like to know the CO2 level which should be actually measured. CrossFit moved back inside struggling with not enough equipment and space. There are several very good trainers but the workout should be thought through for the entire week. People who follow the class often can avoid having the same workout two days. I hope the gym will focus more maintaining the quality than rather attracting new members. Otherwise the current ones start leaving. The opening hours could be prolonged at the weekend.

Fantastische ervaring: Heb hier 1maal een bezoek gebracht. Top locatie! Urban op z'n best! De enige die echt in de buurt komt van deze plaats is The Brick! Er was een kine die er gewoon ter beschikking was en me uitstekend hielp bij een vraag die ik hem stelde over het vast zetten van m'n schouderbladen. Gezellig plaatsje om na het sporten iets te nuttigen. Ik ben hier niet als vaste klant omdat ik uiteindelijk niet in Antwerpen ben gaan wonen.

Fantastische ervaring: I attended to this gym for 2 years and never regretted it. It is very spacious, clean and has all the machines and equipment needed for a complete workout. They also have a very nice group of staff that makes sure that your experience at the gym is as good as possible. The only downside to the gym is that they don’t have air conditioning and during the summer it can get really hot, so I would recommend to go either early or super late in the evening.

Fantastische ervaring: This gym is really a worthy place to workout, even when you need to be in a waiting list to get on board. There are plenty of equipment and group classes, and also a physiotherapy department.

Fantastische ervaring: My valuable gym since 2015

Fantastische ervaring: Best fitness in town.

Negatieve ervaring: Het is de laatste tijd te druk . Is niet meer zo als in het begin.

Positieve ervaring: Great gym, terrible music.

Negatieve ervaring: Duur en er loopt niemand rond om je te helpen als je nieuw bent hiervoor betaal je tegenwoordig een personal trainer voor... Waar is de klanditie die men beloofd? En zeker voor de prijs die men betaald

Negatieve ervaring: Heel goede fitness en een super sfeer, maar helaas is het de laatste tijd zeer druk aangezien ze met hun reclamecampagne mensen bijna verdubbeld hebben. De uren op zaterdag en zeker op zondag moeten langer. Anders proppen mensen elkaar tussen de rest om aan een oef te geraken. Not done! Er hangen geen aircos en het personeel zet de chauffage op 23 gradrn. Kortom een sauna en zweetboel :( ben overgestapt naar Basic fit en raar maar waar veel beter. Vroeger kreeg je nog fruit en water, nu is dat zelfs teveel gevraagd voor 42 Euro.

Positieve ervaring: Allereerst is het een super mooie en gezellige urban fitness. De groepszaal helemaal bovenaan is ook leuk ingericht. Wat ik dan veel minder vind, is het gebrek aan hygiëne: er hangen haren aan de muren in de douches, de douches stinken naar schimmel doordat ze niet genoeg worden proper gemaakt?, het water loopt voor de een of andere reden moeilijk weg, de kleedkamers zijn niet al te proper, ook als je de fitness rondstapt ligt er een laag stof. Kortom: ik voel me er niet echt proper. De groepslessen daarentegen zijn super tof: er is voor iedereen wat wils, de groepslesgevers zelf maken het ook leuk om te doen. Wat ik dan minder vind: de openingsuren in het weekend en de beperkte momenten van groepslessen. Qua prijs-kwaliteit valt het erg mee, als je alles wat ik net heb geschreven in het achterhoofd houdt.
